HENRIETTA GAME

Picture
Henrietta Game are crusaders campaigning to illuminate and stimulate.

Descibed as 'alternative-folk merchants' (Hotpress), Henrietta Game possess uniqueness in both their sound and style making it difficult to classify them definitively. These 'little gems' (Tony Fenton, Today FM) recently performed twice at Electric Picnic 2009, who described their sound as 'evocative lyrical melodies accompanied by haunting vocal and string harmonies'.

Christy Leech combines his passionate and poetic lyrics with exciting melodies and chord-progressions, setting the foundation for the band's complex and clever musical arrangements.

Judy Macnamara, creates the melodies and counter melodies of a suppressed angel, both vocally and with the use of the gentle lullaby-like tones of the glockenspiel.

Aisling O’ Connor (aka Ali Baba), sings with a distinctive style and clarity and adds powerful melodic phrases on the violin.

Aongus Mac Amhlaigh is responsible for the deep, soul awakening sounds of the cello. His vocal performances silence crowds who are always surprised to hear such control and purity.

Still a young band (formed January 2009), they have experienced a meteoric rise in the Dublin music scene and have played to sell-out crowds in venues such as Whelans, The Button Factory, and The Sugar Club
